The Porsche 911 GT3 RS's cargo space will be of minimal concern to most, but there should be enough room for a pair of helmets and a few bottles of water to cool off after a driving experience that should be second to none. However, enthusiasts will be more interested in the GT3 sport steering wheel with four mode switches as well as a button for the drag reduction system. Standard features include cruise control, dual-zone climate control, and dual seven-inch TFT displays in the instrument cluster. Porsche has finally added both wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto. Upgraded leather/Race-Tex seats are available with more colorful stitching in Guards Red, as are 18-way adaptive sport seats.Ĭarbon fiber trim is dotted around the cabin, and the Weissach Package will add magnesium PDK shift paddles and door grab handles in matte carbon fiber. As standard, the Porsche 911 GT3 RS's seats are full buckets trimmed in a combination of leather and Race-Tex upholstery. The Porsche 911 GT3 RS's interior architecture is based on other 911s but with less heavy equipment to keep the weight down. Porsche engineers have reduced pitching under braking, modified the spring rates, and adjusted the multi-link rear axle. With the improvements made to the GT3 RS, it could very well set a new record for 911s around the famed circuit. The regular GT3 already completed a lap of the Green Hell in under seven minutes. This creates a pressure point and a more perceptible click that make gear changes feel even more engaging and precise. With the Weissach Package, the PDK shift paddles are enhanced with magnet technology. Although the GT3 PDK is faster at the top end (197 mph), it's two-tenths slower to 60. As a result, the rear-wheel-drive GT3 RS will shoot from 0-60 mph in three seconds, clear the quarter-mile in 10.9 seconds, and reach a top speed of 184 mph. Unlike the GT3, the GT3 RS only comes with the fast seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, but the overall gear ratio is shorter than in the GT3. By comparison, the GT3 is less powerful (502 hp) but marginally torquier (346 lb-ft). With new camshafts and modified cam profiles, the RS makes 518 hp and 342 lb-ft of torque. It uses the GT3's 4.0-liter naturally-aspirated flat-six with its affection for high revs, blatant disregard for mpg ratings, and howling exhaust note. The engine in the Porsche 911 GT3 RS is something special.
